Counselors
At CIS, we extensively screen our counselors and staff members to make sure they are the best fit for our camp. Each camper group will have at least one college counselor and up to several high school counselors as leaders in their group. Our counselors go through a background check in addition to their application process. We ask that each counselor applicant submit multiple recommendations from teachers and professors as well as former employers.
Counselors also go through several training sessions with Director Joe Carter as well as mandatory CPR certification. Each counselor is matched to an age group based on their strengths and experience. Many of our counselors come back year after year because of their rewarding experience working with our campers and developing strong friendships with other counselors.
If you are interested in becoming a counselor at Camp Indian Springs, please email for more information.
Staff Certification
In addition to standard CPR, the entire CIS staff is trained in administering EpiPens and the operation of an AED machine.
