Head Counselor

At CIS, we extensively screen our counselors and staff members to make sure they are the best fit for our camp. Each camper group will have at least one college counselor and up to several high school counselors as leaders in their group. Our counselors go through a background check in addition to their application process. We ask that each counselor applicant submit multiple recommendations from teachers and professors as well as former employers.

Counselors also go through several training sessions with Director Joe Carter as well as mandatory CPR certification. Each counselor is matched to an age group based on their strengths and experience. Many of our counselors come back year after year because of their rewarding experience working with our campers and developing strong friendships with other counselors.

If you are interested in becoming a counselor at Camp Indian Springs, please email campindiansprings119@gmail.com for more information.

Staff Certification

In addition to standard CPR, the entire CIS staff is trained in administering EpiPens and the operation of an AED machine.

Camp Dining

At Camp Indian Springs, we strive to promote growth in our campers and what's more essential to growth than what you eat? We pride ourselves in providing a nutritious, yet still kid-friendly lunch that your camper will enjoy and one that won't hurt your wallet either. That's why we include lunch and an afternoon snack in your weekly tuition! Below you will find our rotating menu that is sure to please your family.

  • We are a PEANUT FREE camp!

  • We have 2 options available (Mac and cheese & ricebowl) as alternate meals each day should your diet require something different from our daily menu.

Our Campus
Camp Indian Springs is hosted at Indian Springs School whose campus boasts 350 beautiful acres at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains!
Our summer program gives campers a traditional summer camp experience in Birmingham, AL that we believe is truly unmatched. Kids ages 5-13 will enjoy a nine week summer day camp that will keep them entertained while fostering growth and development in many areas!
